What is MOPS?
Moms take care of their children. Who takes care of moms? MOPS does! MOPS stands for Mothers of Preschoolers, and MOPS International exists to meet the needs of ALL moms. These mothers come from different backgrounds and lifestyles, yet have similar needs and a shared desire to be the best mothers they can be. MOPS groups are unique communities created to meet the needs of mothers of young children today. The meetings provide an open, caring, and accepting atmosphere where women can come together to laugh, talk, and share this important season of life including successes, failures, questions, thoughts, feelings, and ideas. Topics presented at MOPS meetings celebrate motherhood and meet a mom’s unique needs. The meetings provide moms with an opportunity to share concerns, explore areas of creativity, and hear instruction that equip mothers for the responsibilities of family and community. MOPS also includes MOPPETS, a program providing a loving learning experience for children.
In addition to the monthly meetings, there will be scheduled social events that are open to everyone, but are optional. These will inlcude events for families, moms & kids, couples, or just moms. Every month, there will be play-dates, social outings or field trips for the moms and kids, which are open even to non-members.
